Driving to Anchorage right now is so beautiful, actually every season is beautiful! In the winter with the shorter daylight hours, our early morning business runs usually include a breathtaking sunrise (unless it's cloudy). When the sun starts peeking over the mountains, casting a lovely shade of pastel colors the views are just fantastic! As you come down out of the mountain pass a low fog hangs in the valleys over the rivers. The Seward Highway can be a little treacherous with the snow, fog, and cold or varying temperatures. If you drive safely, and use common sense, it can still be a very enjoyable drive!
Come to visit in the winter, its cheaper to travel & book lodging because it's the off season. Just get a 4 wheel drive vehicle, and drive like a tourist. (They tend to drive slowly and pull off at about every other pull off to take pictures.) After all there is so much beauty to some in! Which photo is your favorite? Do you have any questions?
