Farming + Life
Life on the farm holds many fond memories, and I'm thankful to have a childhood full of them! From bottle feeding newborn calves, throwing bales down the hay-hole for bedding, cleaning troughs, unloading hay, bringing in the cows from the pasture, catching crayfish in the stream, playing store in an old granary, hooking the hay wagons to the tractor for Dad, and the list goes on, life growing up was never boring! All of it taught me so much about learning how to work, to be patient, and to take life in stride. Cows can die, the rain spoil hay, the baler brake down, it will be OK. Life goes on. John Deere, Case IH, Chevy, or Ford, this farm has seen it all, whatever it takes to get the job done! Ridges, rolling hills, and open fields. Cows, heifers, newborn calves, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats ( plenty of them) have come and gone through the years. But most of all, anything of eternal value accomplished on this soil is because of its Creator. God is always good. He loved us in our brokenness + sin, and His only Son died to redeem us from the grave. Jesus Christ, He is life indeed!
